Daniel Gledhill, 24, is from Provo, Utah. He has studied piano with Dr. Irene Peery-Fox since the age of five and has graduated with a degree in Piano Performance. As a performer, Daniel has performed on both national and international stages, receiving 1st Prizes in both areas. He was also the pianist and featured soloist for Disney’s Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13.


Past Works

Although performance has been his emphasis, his love for composition has driven him to write avidly since the age of 8. In 2007 he was asked to write the score for the introduction to the Psychology Masters Program video at Brigham Young University and has also scored an introduction film for a website called Familylearn.com. In 2006, one of Daniel’s compositions received Honorable Mention in the Music Teacher’s National Association composition competition and was awarded 1st Prize in both State and Regional divisions.


Currently

Daniel is currently working on several projects for various independent artists in Utah Valley as well as a student film, also from Brigham Young University. Several of his compositions will also be performed by university faculty and students this year. Daniel’s compositional techniques are firmly anchored in the late romantic, impressionistic, and early contemporary periods, but he is also greatly influenced by living composers such as John Williams, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer and Michael Giacchino.
